About Us
Our program consists of 66 hours of classroom and skills instruction and 40 hours of clinical externship in a long-term care facility. Our teaching strategies include lectures, written materials, role-play, hands-on instruction, group discussions, and direct patient care. We provide small student teacher ratio of 10:1 with experienced instructors and an on-site skills lab.
Journey Medical Training Center, LLC holds a Certificate of Approval from and is regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission to operate a proprietary school and is approved to provide a Nurse Aide Training Program by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. Our mission is to empower and equip individuals with the tools and education to provide competent and quality care to patients and others within healthcare and the community.

Journey Medical Training Center, LLC. was founded in 2018 by Deadra Thomas, RN, MHA, BSN. It is Mrs. Thomas’ vision to open a vocational school to help others enter the healthcare profession and provide continuing education to healthcare professionals.

Meet Deadra Thomas, MHA, BSN, RN
Owner/Program Director/Instructor
Deadra Thomas brings over 29 years of unique experience in healthcare that includes leadership, education, and clinical expertise. Her clinical experience includes both adult and pediatric care in the acute and post-acute settings, nursing education, nursing administration, and healthcare leadership.
Thomas earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia-West Suburban College of Nursing and a Master of Arts in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University. She has received numerous awards for nursing excellence and leadership including Baylor Healthcare System’s President and CEO Award, D Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing finalist, and the prestigious DFW Great 100 Nurses.
