Journey Medical Training Center, LLC, was founded in 2018 by Deadra Thomas, RN, MHA, BSN. It is Mrs. Thomas’ vision to open a vocational school to help others enter the healthcare profession and provide continuing education to healthcare professionals.

Meet Deadra Thomas, MHA, BSN, RN
Owner/Program Director/Instructor
Lorie Rorabaugh, LVN
Nurse Aide Instructor
Lorie Rorabaugh brings over 14 years of Long-term Care experience in nursing. She has a rich history of teaching nurse aide students, direct patient care, and nursing management. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of the Philippines and received her registered practical nurse certificate in Canada.
Jasmine Davis, CCMA, CPT, CET
Phlebotomy Instructor
Jasmine Davis brings over 15 years of unique experience in healthcare that includes leadership and clinical expertise. Her clinical experience includes both adult and pediatric care in the acute and post-acute settings, Long-Term Care, Special Needs for pediatric care, and Gynecology/Cosmetic Surgery. Her leadership experience includes co-leading the Medical Ministry at her church. Jasmine Davis holds an Associate of Science degree, with numerous certifications, including her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Electrocardiogram Technician, and Certified Phlebotomy Technician. She now works as a surgical assistant and clinical assistant.
Sharon Gardner-Joyner, ASCP PBT
Phlebotomy Instructor
Sharon Gardner-Joyner brings over 15 years of unique experience in healthcare that includes leadership, teaching, and clinical expertise. Her clinical experience includes both working as an EMT and as a medical assistant. Her career includes working with various physician specialists and research labs. Ms. Gardner-Joyner currently works as the director of a lab. She has maintained ASCP PBT since 2006.
LaTasha Rivers, CCMA, CPC
Director/Medical Assistant Instructor
LaTasha Rivers brings over 15 years of experience in healthcare that includes practice management, direct patient care, and education. Her experience includes Family Medicine, Urgent care, Pediatrics, Extern Preceptor, MA instructor, Billing and Coding, and Paramedical Examiner. She holds certifications in Medical Assistant and Billing and Coding.
